I have a B.A. in English and secondary teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. I have a Montessori primary certificate from the National Center for Montessori Education and St. Mary's College in Kansas City. I also have Child Care Director Certification from the state of Colorado. I have worked for Douglas County Schools for nineteen years, the past 10 as the librarian at DCS Montessori School. My husband and I live in Castle Rock and enjoy playing tennis and golf and traveling. We have a son and a daughter who are grown and married and they have blessed us with three grandchildren that we love to spoil. I like to work in the garden and belong to a great book club; of course I love to read! As librarian I strive to make our library welcoming and warm. I want it to be a place students feel comfortable in and are able to find the books they need with ease.

Following high school, I attended Arapahoe Community College. I majored in Early Childhood Education and became Director Qualified, according to the Colorado Department of Human Services. Many years later, I went back to school to earn my B.A. with a Colorado Teaching Certification from Regis University. I graduated with a GPA of 3.96, Summa Cum Laude. I am a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honors Society. In 2006, I received a Master’s Degree in Education, with a certification in Educational Leadership from Regis, with High Honors and a GPA of 3.95.
I have two Montessori certifications, both from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, in Boulder, Colorado. I hold a Primary Certification (ages 3-6), and one in Lower Elementary (ages 6-9).
I began my teaching career as an assistant, teacher, and director in child care centers. I have been a Montessori teacher since 1992. It is my passion in life. 2005 was my first year at DCS Montessori School. I am honored to be a part of this community of children, parents, teachers, and faculty.
