The younger children learn the parts of a book, how to take care of their books and the responsibility of returning their books when they are due. Students learn how to use the computer catalog to find books they are interested in. We have a visual catalog for the younger students. The students learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction books, biographies and reference books and how the library is organized with the Dewey Decimal System. They use the library as an extension of the classroom and learn to find books for their book reports and research projects.
