The Learning Support Services Department at DCS Montessori is comprised of a learning specialist, speech language therapist, school psychologist, occupational therapist, and a paraeducator. The Learning Support Team supports students with unique and special learning needs through the use of current research data and best practices. The team’s responsibilities include collaboration with regular education teachers, staff, and families, to determine individual needs for student needs who qualify for the program. The team works to plan appropriate instruction, modify and adapt curriculum, provide accommodations as needed and evaluate ongoing student progress. Our mission is to help students reach their optimal potential by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment dedicated to producing and supporting high quality learning within the Montessori school community.
