Pam Alexander
My name is Pam Alexander and I am proud to be one of the primary teachers at DCS Montessori. I live in Castle Rock, Colorado, with my husband, son and a myriad of animals. I have always loved animals and my collection consists of 2 horses, a dog, 2 cats, 2 fish, 4 ducks and a potbelly pig. I enjoy being outside and keep busy doing a variety of activities including hiking, biking, skiing, horseback riding, riding trains and swimming.
I took my Primary Montessori training in 1981 at the Washington Montessori Institute and received my Montessori certificate in 1982 to work with children ages 3-6. I worked at a Montessori school in Cincinnati for 8 years. My husband and I moved to Colorado in 1992 and I worked at a Montessori school in Denver until the arrival of our son in 1998. When my son was 2, I started a toddler class at a Montessori school in Castle Rock. As my son moved into primary Montessori at DCS, I got back into the classroom. In 2005, I started a new primary classroom in my present location and have been here since. I have been involved in Montessori education for half of my life, and I am just as excited and inspired by her teachings as I was when I began teaching. The children keep me feeling hopeful and peaceful, and I love the energy that they exude. Montessori education is a way of life, and I will continue to work with children for many years.
