Welcome parents and students.

I’d like to express my enthusiasm for the upcoming year. I feel honored to be among the talented leaders of this community. Our staff, faculty, parents, students, and curriculum are the best in the district. We have many exciting milestones, activities, and challenges to anticipate.

I encourage all of us to deepen our knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the Montessori philosophy; Maria’s methods for educating and celebrating our children are both fascinating and inspirational.

As with any charter school we face some unique challenges, one of which is not receiving daily bus service to and from school. This creates a less than optimal pick-up and drop-off situation. Please bear with us as we continue exploring ways to improve the efficiency and safety of this process.

Throughout the year I will be reminding all of us of the importance of communication and participation. There are so many things that occur throughout any school year that making it a habit to check and update calendars daily is highly advisable.

We will continue to exploit the efficiencies of technology when it makes sense. Our use of the parent portal and email was invaluable during the summer when communicating several unexpected issues became necessary. We will continue to use this resource.

A school is truly a community and a team effort. The detail that must be managed on a weekly basis is impressive. We can’t do it without your help. I encourage all parents (siblings and grandparents too!) to allocate a portion of their time to volunteering. There are plenty of opportunities and a variety of tasks/events. Please call us at 303-387-5625, check the web site, or ask your child’s teacher.

Starting a new school year is much like starting a new year’s resolution with one notable benefit – it’s something we get to share with our children. Remember, our leadership is the model our children will someday become. If you’ve ever heard yourself say “I want (or need) to spend more time getting involved, getting to know my children, setting a better example…” or something similar, now is the time.

We’ll never know how great our school can become unless we fully express the many unique talents, interests, and gifts of our community. Step out, take a risk, get involved. We look forward to working together and sharing our distinctive contributions to make this the best year ever!
