We are incredibly proud of the growth and achievement our students demonstrated throughout the school year. In April, students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 participated in the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) where they showcased their knowledge and skills aligned with Colorado’s academic standards.
This year, for the first time, DCSD will no longer mail hard copies of CMAS score reports. Beginning on May 29, 2026, you will be able to access your child’s CMAS score reports electronically through the Pearson’s Family Portal. Our 7th grade students spent last week at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, where immersive, hands-on learning brought history and culture to life! The experience culminated in a capstone visit to Mesa Verde National Park and a meaningful service project repairing the adobe pit house learning center. We are so proud of our students for their curiosity, teamwork, and stewardship throughout this incredible journey!
Many of you have received communication from the District regarding next year’s elementary and middle school schedule changes. District schools will begin 45 minutes later every Friday to allow time for Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
At DCS Montessori, our PLC structure is different, so we will NOT have a delayed start on Fridays. Our school schedule will remain the same as it has been this year.

• Field Day shirts are being sent home this week! Some were delivered yesterday, and the remaining shirts will go home today.
• With so many exciting events happening during the final two weeks of school, it can be hard to keep track. Be sure to download the DCS Montessori app! Simply click “Events” at the bottom to see everything happening for our students.

Our 5th grade tech students had a blast creating interactive musical instruments with Makey Makey boards and Scratch this week! Students used coding, creativity, and engineering skills to turn everyday materials into working instruments they could program and play. Such a fun hands-on STEAM experience full of problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation! 🎵💻⚡
Students proudly represented their assigned countries, dressing in traditional or culturally inspired attire that added color, creativity, and meaning to the celebration. The excitement continued as all six Lower Elementary classrooms participated in a lively parade through the school, giving fellow students, staff, and families a chance to experience this incredible global showcase together.
It was truly a day filled with joy, learning, and celebration of cultures from around the world! 🎉

DCS Montessori began a sustainability journey 5 years ago, and this month we were able energize a 90% offset solar powered installation on our roof! Our passion to support our students and their future fueled this and other DCS Montessori sustainability projects! Patrick, now a certified flight instructor with a commercial pilot license, shared his passion for aviation and gave students an inside look at what it takes to fly. He’s currently working toward earning his multi-engine rating—an exciting next step in his journey through the skies!
Students were thrilled to try on his pilot headset and imagine what it might be like to communicate with an Air Traffic Control Tower someday. The room was full of curiosity, excitement, and big dreams taking flight!
